Company

Private Alpha develops AI-optimized investment strategies for the financial markets. We apply artificial intelligence and advanced statistical techniques to vast amounts of financial data to develop investment strategies designed to provide early warning of large stock market declines to protect capital. We work closely with our clients and institutional investors to support their investment decisions with cutting-edge technology. We strive to dynamically adjust investment strategy through our models. Machine learning enables us to analyze a wide variety of indicators and time series, to recognize their interdependencies more sharply and to generate more precise information from the data noise of the financial markets – up to the early recognition of market-relevant structural changes. In this way, we achieve an optimal risk/reward ratio for all our products.

Christoph J. Gum

CEO

Christoph J. Gum is co-founder and CEO of Private Alpha and the first point of contact for our clients and fund management.Christoph spent over 10 years in senior positions at Credit Suisse, most

recently as COO for Austria and Eastern Europe. Prior to that, he was with Citibank and PricewaterhouseCoppers as a Strategy Consultant. He is also an experienced entrepreneur with a successful IPO of an e-commerce company in 2000.

He studied business administration in Neu-Ulm and at Piedmont University in Atlanta, where he played in the American college league NCAA and as a professional basketball player in the first German league.

Christoph R. Züllig

COO

Christoph R. Züllig is co-founder, COO and Chairman at Private Alpha and is responsible for operational management and portfolio management.

Christoph was Executive Director and Country Head Austria at Bank Julius Baer. He was CCO at the start and development of CreditGate24. Prior to that, he gained professional experience in private and investment banking at Credit Suisse.

He studied International Management at ZHAW and holds an Executive MBA in Digital Leadership from the University of Strathclyde.

Gregory Bättig

Head of AI

Gregory Bättig is Head AI at Private Alpha. He leads the development of stochastic Deep Reinforcement Learning applications at Private Alpha, as well as for data mining of robust trading rules.

During his time in Silicon Valley, he gained valuable experience in the development of Deep Learning systems, which were used in autonomous vehicles. His entry into finance was at a crypto startup in Zurich that developed high-frequency trading algorithms.

Gregory earned his Master of Science from ETH Zurich with a focus in Robotics and Machine Learning.

Christos Papadakis

Junior Data Scientist

Christos Papadakis is a Junior Data Scientist at Private Alpha.

Christos supports the technology team in the further development of our machine learning models and the design of algorithms for financial market analysis.

He is studying Applied Mathematics at ETH (MSc), with a focus on financial mathematical methods and stochastic.

Neeraj Kumar

Senior Data Scientist

Neeraj Kumar is Senior Data Scientist

Neeraj supports the technology team in the further development of our Machine Learning models and the design of algorithms for financial market analysis as well as the stochastic Deep Reinforcement Learning applications at Private Alpha.

He holds a Master's degree in Data Science from the University of Zurich, focusing on Machine Learning.

Lukas Egeling

Lukas supports the technology team in the further development of our machine learning models and the design of algorithms for financial market analysis.

He is studying Computer Science at ETH (MSc), with a focus on Software Engineering and Machine Learning.

Johanna supports the CEO and COO in sales and business development tasks.

She studies economics at the University of Regensburg, with a focus on business psychology.

Cristiana Șotîngeanu

Freelance Developer

Cristiana Șotîngeanu is a freelancer at Private Alpha.

Cristiana supports the technology team in the development of our front end tools with focus on web applications. She runs her own web agency with a focus on UI/UX design and WordPress development.

She studied Business Administration with a focus on Information Management at the University of Bucharest.

Thomas Reiter

Head Media

Thomas Reiter is co-founder and Head Media at Private Alpha.

Thomas Reiter runs his own design agency in Traunstein. He was an art director at leading advertising agencies in Munich for several years.

He studied communication design at the Blocher University in Munich.

Alan Solansky

Head Legal

Alan Solansky is co-founder and Head Legal at Private Alpha.

Alan runs his own law firm in Meggen, Switzerland and in Munich, Germany. He is a mentor at the University of St. Gallen as well as at the Technical University of Munich for start-up entrepreneurs.

He studied at the Technical University of Munich and Stockholm University and holds a Master of Law.

Andreas Perreiter

Verwaltungsrat & Investor

Andreas Perreiter is a board member at Private Alpha.Andreas is a business angel and technology investor. He is one of the co-founders of Amaysim, a mobile service provider based in Australia.

Previously, he had a successful exit to Telefonica with Simyo, a European mobile service provider.

Andreas studied at the Technical University of Munich.

Dr. Tobias Bürger

Technology Advisor

Tobias Bürger is Technology Advisor at Private Alpha.

Tobias is Head Big Data & AI Platforms at BMW AG in Munich. Previously, he was responsible for Big Data and Analytics at Payback.

He studied Computer Science at the University of Innsbruck and holds a PhD. He published several scientific studies.

Dr. Miro Cada

Technology Advisor

Miro Cada is Technology Advisor at Private Alpha.

Miro is Managing Partner at OnPoint AG, a leading Swiss consulting firm.

Miro was also an Executive Consultant at GFT AG.

He studied mathematics at ETH Zurich and holds a PhD in applied mathematics from ETH Zurich.

Dr. Wolfgang Zauner

Strategic Advisor

Wolfgang Zauner is a Strategic Advisor at Private Alpha.

Wolfgang is a fintech investor and entrepreneur. Previously, Wolfgang

spent over 20 years in international corporate banking. He worked in a

senior role for several years at JP MorganChase in New York and Frankfurt,

as well as at Bank of America.

He studied business administration at the University of Vienna and holds a

PhD.
